Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Had a wonderful night here for a birthday dinner and last night in Rome."
"This is my second time back in Rome in the last 5 years, and we returned to Ciak for the second time, and we were very happy. The meat was fantastic, and there was a great selection. The portions could be adjusted a bit. The grilled potatoes, two small potatoes, seemed a bit small in size. The trio of artichokes was very good, and the portion was good. The bruschetta with grilled sausage was slightly dry, but still good. All in all, it's a good place. The location is excellent."
"Beef is their passion. A pleasant meal with good quality meat grill master and good wine. If you ‘re enough of pizza, cheese and tomato, here is the best place to visit."
"Ciak has a charming atmosphere right on a very lively street in Rome. The overall vibe is great, and the waiters are approachable and which made us feel welcome. However, we waited 40 minutes for pasta dishes despite the restaurant not being fully packed. The Truffle Ravioli were unfortunately mediocre and dry, definitely needing more sauce. Carbonara, on the other hand, was a real highlight. We also tried the "Ciak's special fried meatballs," but honestly, there was nothing so special about them. Presentation is also mediocre. All in all, the experience was still really nice, and I would come again to try some of their other dishes. Perhaps the ones we picked this time just weren't for me. Hugo Spritz was great tho!"
"Had a steak dinner at Il Ciak in Trastevere and it blew every other steak I’ve tried out of the water. Perfect flavor, perfect cook. The service was spot-on and the staff were genuinely excellent. One of the few places in Rome that gets everything right. Highly recommend."
"We had an absolutely amazing dining experience here. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent from start to finish. The staff even gave us a tour of the different meat options available, which really showed their passion and expertise. Once the food arrived at the table, the meat was simply irresistible—perfectly prepared and incredibly flavorful. This place is truly worth a visit if you’re looking for a cozy, authentic Italian atmosphere with top-quality food. Tip: definitely go for the meat dishes, as this is what they specialize in. Also, don’t hesitate to ask for the staff’s favorites—you’ll end up with the very best choices. We did exactly that and were not disappointed. Very welcoming, extremely delicious food, and truly an evening to remember."
"Nice little restaurant in a busy lane full of restaurants. Good service. Food was ok, but not amazing. The Spanish ham appetizer with tomato salsa was good (recommended by the Spanish customer next to us). The truffle carbonara was pretty good too. For the steak, the taste was good, but it seemed overcooked (asked for rare, probably got medium). The meat (supposedly bone in rib eye) was also rubbery in certain parts. The tiramisu is ok, taste good but not the best we've had in Italy (we think maybe restaurant tiramisu isn't that great i ln general compared to one from a pastry shop that specializes in desserts)."
"I give an overall 5 stars cuz the steak was really amazing. Ranking high up there for me even up against Bistecca places like Girarrosto Florentino (hence quite surprised given the street serves mostly tourists). The parpadelle alla ragu was super yummy too. I think the fact that they had clubbing music on top blast at the beginning might actually have caused a lot of people to not come because it gave off touristy vibes. I did ask for them to turn down the music and people starting filling up the restaurant."
